From Denise's Desk: The Definition of Insanity
As the year winds down, now is a great time to look back on the progress you've made... and perhaps more importantly... on the progress still yet to happen as you move toward your goals.
Now, be honest with yourself. Are you practicing insanity? As one of my favorite quotes states, "the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." If your marketing program is guilty of this, I'd encourage you to mix up your marketing effort a bit.
One great way to do this is to find a "best practice" that is working in another industry and borrow it. Take time now to think about what your favorite restaurant, your hair dresser or even your automobile dealer does to win loyal customers. I'm not suggesting that you adopt everything they do, but it never hurts to see if there's a tactic that you could borrow.
At TAG Marketing & Recruiting, that's exactly how we develop products. We know our own industry very well and we also remain on the lookout for marketing ideas that are working in other arenas. You'd be amazed at the little things you can do to set your agency apart from the crowd. And, if nothing else, it's a great opportunity to reaffirm that what you're doing is absolutely, positively on the right track.
As you take time for this introspection, you might want to consider a few of the marketing tools we've developed this year such as our 13 month Home Care and Hospice calendars or our Sounds of the Season CD. And, if you're like so many of our clients and immersed in the budgeting process for 2008, please remember to check out our website for unique marketing products or, better yet, give us a call for some ideas and pricing. We'll be happy to get to work to find that "just right" marketing product and strategy that will help you avoid the path of insanity!
